The “Islas del Lago” crossing brings our traveler closer to the Uro-Aymara communities that inhabit these floating islands, giving him the opportunity to meet their inhabitants in person – men who are experts in handling their reed rafts, expert women weavers, the ancestral techniques with which they stay afloat, as well as other facets of their ancient heritage.

In Taquile, for example, the traveler can explore the Quechua imaginary made embroidered in fabrics recognized as Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, part of the living culture of the place.
