Day 1: International Arrivals / Lima

International arrival, reception and transfer to the hotel. Lodging.

Day 2: LIMA City Of Kings - Colonial + Modern And Barranco, Gastronomic Experience D/A

Breakfast.

First, your tour guide will be presented to you who will give you a briefing of the program followed by a Q&A session.  You will visit the main points of interest beginning by the colonial zone where you will visit the main square l

(La Plaza Mayor), The Cathedral, the Convent of Saint Francis where we are sure kids will be surprised to see the catacombs. You will also visit the Central Reserve Bank Museum

Later on, you will continue towards Lima’s modern zone. You will visit the Huaca Puccllana where you will enjoy while vising it and will continue to Barranco, a bohemian neighborhood..

You will have a gastronomic experience in a prestigious restaurant where the kids will share with the chef the preparation of two classic dishes from Peru and the fathers will learn how to prepare a Pisco Sour, our typical national drink. .

Lunch will follow.

Lodging and Dinner

Day 3: Lima / Cusco / Sacred Valley D/A

Breakfast.

Transfer to the airport to take the flight to Cusco (the 08:00 am flight is recommended) Arrival and transfer to the Sacred Valley. Down the road, we will visit Awanacancha where you will get to know the Andean camelidos like the vicuña, the alpaca, the llama, the guanaco, and the work process of the alpaca wool.

Here, you will be able to enjoy feeding them. You will continue towards the Inkari Museum where parents and kids will enjoy the history of Peru, taught in a didactic way.

Lunch in a tourist restaurant.

Visit to Ollantaytambo, where you will admire the Incas architecture. It is one of the most admired archeological remains.

After you will visit the picturesque town of Ollanta Return to the hotel.

Dinner while your guide comments all next day’s program and will after go outside to the gardens to watch the stars, weather permitting.

Day 4: Sacred Valley of The Incas / Experiences D/A

Breakfast.

Andean Experience: Communities Of De Willock And Pumamarca

This community is very attractive since they live according to their ancestral habits. On that day, you will live an “experience” that will leave an imprint in the kids.

The community members will greet you.

Experiences:

The girls and their mothers will have a “handloom”program in which first they will learn the dyeing process of the alpaca wool

After having the alpaca dyed threads, we will proceed to the handlooms where you will be taught about knitting, following the community’s ancestral knowledge where the designs are carried in their memories as an inheritance of their ancestors. The girls will knit small bracelets in those handlooms that will be such an experience.

After, they will interact with the children of the community.

The boys and their fathers will have an “agricultural experience” in which the community chiefs in their fields will teach them how to plow the land in an artisan way that has been inherited from generation to generation.

They will participate using those tools to plow the field. After, they will demonstrate how they raise their animals and will feed them. You will get to know the cuy, family of the guinea-pigs, that live inside the house and are nutritious food for them  and finally will show you the newly borned  cuys  for the children may enjoy by carrying them.

After, you will dress in beautiful robes for picture taking and for your farewell.

A small snack will be served consisting mainly in fruits and beverages.

You will continue towards the town of PUMAMARCA. In the road, you will have a surprise. You will find a  “llama”(it is an auquenido used by the peasants of the Andes for transportation since they are pack animals. This comes from the Incas times.

They already know the way and will place themselves in front heading down the road towards the town. To make matters more exciting, a herd of llamas will join them and all will walk together. The llamas know their way and wear a bell in their necks whose sound will give notice of their arrival.

Upon arrival to the town of PUMAMARCA, you may rest and the children may play with the village children. If they so desire.

After, with our transportation we will head towards a valley area where you will have a picnic lunch while enjoying the landscape.

Return to the hotel and free afternoon for your enjoyment.

Together with your guide, you will recall the day’s experiences and will start a bonfire to also listen to the zones story telling.

Dinner at the hotel.

Day 5: Sacred Valley of The Incas /Aguas Calientes D/A

Breakfast

Experience: Piuray Lagoon And Visit To Moray.

You will be picked-up at the hotel and will be transported towards the PIURAY Lagoon where you will receive all the necessary equipment to make navigation and safety measures will be provided.

You will have a wonderful view of the Urubamba Mountain range; you will appreciate fishermen and peasants in their daily chores.

You will have your lunch prepared in a wood-oven while contemplating the wonderful landscape,

Next, you will visit the archeological remains of Moray, the salt mines and Maras.

Transfer to the train station to take the night train with the town of Aguas Calientes as destination.

Arrival and lodging, dinner included.

Day 6: Machu Picchu - Lost City Of The Incas D/A

Breakfast

To stay overnight in Aguas Calientes has the advantage of climbing early morning to the Macchu Picchu citadel since it opens at 6am, that you will enjoy without any turmoil. The guide, with his narrative will take the kids to the Inca era in their imaginations.

After a long and quiet stroll, you will descend to the town where you will have lunch and may visit with the kids the small zoo at the hotel. You may also appreciate the different plants and orchids that the Inkaterra Hotel grows in its botanical garden.

In the Sumaq Hotel lodging option, you will have cookie classes and the Andean tales hour.

Lunch. Return to the city of Cusco.

Dinner on your own.

Day 07: Cusco City Tour And Horse Ride D/A

Transfer to Sacsayhuaman and Quenqo where horses will be waiting ready for a horse ride by the beautiful archeological center of Sacsayhuaman. You will then continue by a path that will take you to Yuncaypata and the flower valley at Punamarca.

Aferwards, a ride to the San Blas neighborhood for its handicraft enjoyment., If lucky we will have the opportunity of visiting a workshop where an artisan will teach you how he uses the different elements in his work.

Lunch will be in pictureque restaurant Pacchapa where you will enjoy traditional food. This restaurant is located inside a typical house from the zone since the times of the Colony. After, you will descend through cobblestone roads down to the city center where you will visit The Cathedral, the main square (Plaza Mayor), to continue towards the Koricancha Palace where the Convent of Santo Domingo is found..

Free rest of the day.

Dinner on your own. We will recommend you the different restaurants that exists in the city.

Lodging.

Day 8: Cusco / Lima / Paracas

Breakfast.

Transfer to the airport for the flight back to Lima. Immediately you will transferred to the Natural Reserve of Paracas. (We recommended that you take the seven or eight am return flight for an early arrival that will permit you to enjoy the hotels facilities.)

Arrival to Paracas after a three-hour bus ride. Lodging,

Rest of the day free to enjoy the hotel.

Dinner on your own at the hotel.

Experiencies: Nature

Day 9: Paracas D/A

Breakfast

08:00 hrs. Ballestas Islands excursion. Departure from the Paracas pier for an excursion to the Ballestas Islands  These islands are rock formations that shelter sea lions, Humboldt penguins, marine cats, dolphins and a great variety of resident and migratory birds, of which the highlights are the gray seagull,  the heron, the cholo atico, the Peruvian boobies  and the cormorants.

11:00: Transfer to the airport of Pisco for the Nazca Lines overflight.

It is an enormous and enigmatic network of lines and animal drawings as well as plants credited to the Nazca Culture, covering a total surface of 450 km² in the arid desert of Ica.

Lunch included in the tourist restaurant El Piloto in Paracas.

In the afternoon, we will continue our adventure in the Paracas desert.  We will move along a myriad of sand dunes in boogies conducted by expert pilots and will arrive to a high spot from where we can experiment sliding in a sand board and feel the adrenalin rushing under your skin.

Transfer back to the hotel in Paracas.

Lodging.

Day 10: Paracas / Lima

Breakfast at the hotel.

If there is still time very early you may enjoy water sports.

Return to Lima and immediate transfer to the airport.
