This community is very attractive since they live according to their ancestral habits. On that day, you will live an “experience” that will leave an imprint in the kids.
The community members will greet you.
Experiences:
The girls and their mothers will have a “handloom”program in which first they will learn the dyeing process of the alpaca wool
After having the alpaca dyed threads, we will proceed to the handlooms where you will be taught about knitting, following the community’s ancestral knowledge where the designs are carried in their memories as an inheritance of their ancestors. The girls will knit small bracelets in those handlooms that will be such an experience.
After, they will interact with the children of the community.
The boys and their fathers will have an “agricultural experience” in which the community chiefs in their fields will teach them how to plow the land in an artisan way that has been inherited from generation to generation.
They will participate using those tools to plow the field. After, they will demonstrate how they raise their animals and will feed them. You will get to know the cuy, family of the guinea-pigs, that live inside the house and are nutritious food for them and finally will show you the newly borned cuys for the children may enjoy by carrying them.
After, you will dress in beautiful robes for picture taking and for your farewell.
A small snack will be served consisting mainly in fruits and beverages.
You will continue towards the town of PUMAMARCA. In the road, you will have a surprise. You will find a “llama”(it is an auquenido used by the peasants of the Andes for transportation since they are pack animals. This comes from the Incas times.
They already know the way and will place themselves in front heading down the road towards the town. To make matters more exciting, a herd of llamas will join them and all will walk together. The llamas know their way and wear a bell in their necks whose sound will give notice of their arrival.
Upon arrival to the town of PUMAMARCA, you may rest and the children may play with the village children. If they so desire.
After, with our transportation we will head towards a valley area where you will have a picnic lunch while enjoying the landscape.
