Transfer from Chachapoyas Airport to the neighboring town of potters of HUANCAS

Visit to the house – workshop of a potter. Pottery demonstration, and possibility of modeling the clay guided by the potter. Due to its originality and ancestral cultural continuity, Huancas ceramics have been part of the Cultural Heritage of Peru since 2012. Visit the 02 Huancas viewpoints over the impressive canyons of the Sonche River and the Utcubamba River. After the Box Lunch, a pedestrian visit to the historic center of Chachapoyas, a city of colonial origin founded in 1538.

07:30 am Transfer of one hour to the town of LEVANTO

Activities:

• Visit to its main square and colonial church.
• Visit to the circular house Chachapoya de Collacruz.
• Hike for an hour and a half down a pre-Hispanic paved path “Qhapaq Ñan” until we find the mobility to go to the town of Leymebamba.
• Visit to the workshop of an experienced weaver to learn about natural fibers and dyes, the backstrap loom, and the rescue of the symbols of the Chachapoya Culture.

Dinner and overnight at Rangra Wasi Lodge.

Accommodation in double, triple or quadruple bungalows.

• Breakfast and transfer to the town of San Bartolo, an agricultural community that preserves its traditional “Casas de Muésca” built with interlaced logs and clay mortar.
• One hour walk to get under the cliff that houses the Revash Mausoleums, a funeral site of the Chachapoya in the form of miniature houses, we return along the same path to take mobility and return to have lunch in Leymebamba.
• Visit to the Ethno-archaeological Museum of Leymebamba, which exhibits the offerings rescued from the mausoleums of the Laguna de los Cóndores.
• Dinner and overnight at Rangra Wasi Lodge, accommodation in double, triple or quadruple bungalows.

Breakfast and one hour transfer to the town of Nuevo Tingo where we will board the Cable Car to Kuélap. Guided visit to the fortified archaeological citadel of Kuélap, located at 3,030 meters above sea level. Lunch, and transfer to the City of Chachapoyas. Visit to the Workshop of an artisan specialized in working the Andean walnut seed.
