Chachapoyas 4D / 3N

Transfer to the city of Chachapoyas accompanied by a company’s representative (approx. 03hrs 30 minutes).

09:00hrs. We will depart towards the town of Cocachimba.  In this town, inhabited by about 200 families we will begin our hike towards the Gocta Waterfalls, with its 771 mts. drop.

It is considered to be the third highest of the planet After the Salto del Angel in Venezuela and the Tugela Falls in South Africa.

To reach the Goctas lower part we need to walk around 5 km by a trail of irregular terrain, crossing a very attractive humid and thick forest.  After two and a half hours, we will arrive to the waterfalls where you may enjoy what nature has to offer in that place to later return to the hotel.

08:00hrs We will drive towards Kuelap. The walls and hundreds of rounded houses are covered by a cloud forest at 3000 meters above sea level.

It always surprises the visitors that see it for the first time. We will explore many ceremonial constructions and aqueducts. Although Kuelap was discovered 60 years before Machu Picchu, it is not globally recognized.

However, recent discoveries in close areas, related to Kuelap and its history have captured the archeologist attention together with international magazines and movie enterprises. Lunch at a local restaurant.
