Llama Trek - Ancasmarca HD - Tour Express Perú

The objective of this excursion is to reassess the use of the llama as a tool of carry for the development of peasant communities and the conservation of the mountain ecosystems of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. The llama in addition to being a native animal, is highly eco-friendly unlike introduced carry animals such as horse and donkey.

On this route we will connect with the excitement of knowing Inca archaeological sites, we will walk along the trails of the Inca trail appreciating its beautiful landscape, and we will enjoy the company of the llamas carrying our backpacks.

Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Ancasmarca

We will pick you up from your hotel at 7:00 a.m. In our private transport and we will go to the town of Calca (2,925 m / 9,596 feet) and then to the community of Accha Alta, to the archaeological complex of Ancasmarca (4,150 m / 13,615 feet), where we will take a guided tour.

We will appreciate hundreds of stone deposits where the Inca state stored potatoes and other root crops, for distribution throughout the empire where food was needed.

Then we will continue our trip in our transport for about 15 minutes to the Caypa sector (4,200 m / 13,780 feet), there we will be received by the community members of the area, muleteers who bring their llamas from their community early in the morning for the activity.

The guide will explain the function that the llamas had in Inca times and will provide us with recommendations for the excursion. The walk takes place next to the river along an Inca trail with descent, we will pass through a canyon and appreciate some Inca tombs, we will continue our journey until we reach the community of Totora (3,000 m / 9,843 feet).

After visiting and enjoying this beautiful trip, we will transfer back to your hotel in the city of Cusco arriving at approximately 4:00. p.m.
